Ibrahim Saleem (Abu Dhabi)
Scholars and clerics have expressed their appreciation for the UAE, which is living on a day of human brotherhood, and the world’s celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity is only an appreciation of the Emirates for its efforts in serving humanity and spreading peace, love and coexistence among all human beings, and that the issuance of the document in Abu Dhabi, which was signed by His Eminence the Grand Imam Sheikh Al-Azhar Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of the Catholic Church on February 4, 2019, and the commemoration of this day globally by its adoption by the United Nations as a World Day for Human Fraternity, and they unanimously agreed that the document is a human constitution that includes what religions have urged, and absolves religions from the allegations of some that they are responsible for extremism and terrorism. At the outset, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ayad, Secretary-General of the Islamic Research Academy, affirmed that the “Human Fraternity Document” came after unremitting efforts made by Al-Azhar in cooperation and coordination with the Vatican. This is in order to promote the values of human brotherhood among all human beings with their different beliefs, sects and races. He added: When we look at religious texts in Islam and Christianity, we will find that they have urged honoring the human being, preserving his rights, and the need to achieve justice and equality for all, and this is what the document of human brotherhood seeks clearly and explicitly.
Dr. Nazeer Ayyad said: When we look at the contemporary reality – also – we will find an urgent need to consolidate and strengthen the values of human brotherhood stipulated in the document; Since we are witnessing many incidents and accidents that deviate from the path of human brotherhood and thus lead to injustice and inequality, so humanity needs now what this blessed document brought like its need for food and drink.
He said that the most prominent thing that this document came with is “the vindication of religions of what has been attributed to them” by some of them, as they are the main reason for spreading wars, conflicts and strife, and this is undoubtedly nonsense that has no value in the balance of sound mind and correct historical reality; Since religions are innocent of all these wars and those conflicts that were attributed to them, we did not find a sacred text that incites to kill the other and deprive him of his rights and humanity. These wars are the owners, those in charge of them, and the beneficiaries of them, not the religions and their sacred texts. As we celebrate the anniversary of the signing of the Human Fraternity Document, we call on the whole world to promote the values of human brotherhood in an effective and realistic manner, and the need to benefit from what this blessed document has brought, and to immortalize it for subsequent generations.
The first constitution of principles
For her part, Dr. Nahla Al-Saeedi, Head of the Development Center for International and Foreign Students at Al-Azhar, stressed that there is no doubt that the Human Fraternity Document can become the first constitution for the lofty humanitarian principles, as it includes an explicit call to renounce conflict and distance from differences that have always led to division and division. It also calls for working to spread the values of freedom, love and peace, and with these teachings found in the document, the world avoids the evils and tragedies of wars, and we take homelands towards brotherhood and coexistence not among the people of the same country, but among all human beings. It also confirms that faith leads the believer to see in the other a brother, and he has to support and love him, and based on faith in God who created all people and created the universe and creatures and equated them with His mercy, the believer is called to express this human brotherhood by caring for creation By the whole universe, and by offering assistance to every human being, especially the weakest of mankind, and the most needy and needy.
She added: This document is based on global documents that alerted to the importance of the role of religions in building world peace. The document is a call for reconciliation and fraternity among all believers in religions, but also between believers and non-believers, and all people of good will. It is an appeal to every living conscience that renounces hateful violence and blind extremism, and to every lover of the principles of tolerance, brotherhood, and the preservation of human dignity that religions call for and encourage. She said: “I focused on spreading the values of tolerance and peace in global societies.” She called on state leaders, international policy makers and the global economy to work Seriously to spread the culture of tolerance, coexistence and peace, and to intervene immediately to stop the wars, conflicts, disputes the world is witnessing, climatic decline and cultural and moral decline. Righteousness to confront individualistic, selfish and confrontational tendencies, extremism and blind fanaticism in all its forms and manifestations. She added, “History confirms that religious and national extremism and fanaticism have produced in the world, whether in the West or the East, what we can call the signs of a “third world war in parts”, which began to reveal its ugly face in many places, and about tragic situations that are not It is known – precisely – the number of the dead, widows, bereaved and orphans who left them, and there are other places that are being prepared for more explosions, amassing weapons and bringing ammunition, in a global situation dominated by uncertainty, disappointment and fear of the future, and controlled by narrow material interests, the document urges peace And to renounce fanaticism and thus not to fall into wars that destroy peoples and nations.”
Humanity and tolerance
Isaiah Haroun, a member of the Council of the Anba Antonios Cathedral of the Coptic Orthodox Egyptians in Abu Dhabi and a business advisor, affirmed that the UAE has been and is since the establishment of its bases, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the founder of the UAE on the foundations of humanity, tolerance and values derived from heavenly teachings and succeeded. Able to embrace on its soil 200 nationalities of different races and religions, and the first criterion was participation in humanity.
He added: “The UAE was not satisfied with this regional success in establishing the principles of tolerance, which appeared very clearly in building churches and temples for all Muslims, Christians, Jews and other religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism and others, but the UAE, along with some brothers, went to the international community to celebrate the International Day of Brotherhood. Humanity on the fourth day of February every year, because the United Arab Emirates does not want to celebrate this day at the level of the Emirates, but in order for the benefit of the entire international community to uphold the values of tolerance and humanity, because these are the values of the United Arab Emirates and it is no longer surprising that You see the clergy in their different outfits, living in freedom and practicing their beliefs and faith, and the reason behind this is the UAE’s belief in human values and tolerance.
