The Superbike World Championship is experiencing a particular season that sees its big twist in the Cremona round: Toprak Razgatlioglu will be forced to withdraw from the event in Italy. The championship leader is still struggling with the injury from Magny-Cours and, after missing the races in France, will also be a spectator in Lombardy. In his place will race Markus Reiterberger, who will return to the world stage for the first time since 2019.
The BMW driver crashed at Magny-Cours during the second free practice session, suffering a traumatic pneumothorax in the shocking impact against the barriers, which forced him to end his French weekend early.

Two weeks to recover and get back on track in Cremona, where the ninth round of the season takes place this weekend. Although doctors had given Toprak the OK to travel from France to Italy, new medical visits have forced the world championship leader to stop once again.
This is therefore a great opportunity for Nicolò Bulega, who is second in the standings and 55 points behind Razgatlioglu. The rookie of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team will be able to make the most of the weekend of absence of his direct rival to continue to reduce the gap that separates him from the top. Toprak’s withdrawal could therefore represent a crucial turning point in terms of the world championship, and everything could change in just one weekend…
“I would have liked to be back on track in Cremona, but it is taking longer than I initially hoped,” Razgatlioglu explained. “One thing is for sure: as soon as possible, I will be back in the fight for the championship! A big thank you to everyone who supported me in this difficult moment: we will see each other on track soon!”
