One of the most anticipated riders of the Superbike World Championship is certainly Andrea Iannone, who has already made his debut in the winter tests, but today he officially presents himself together with his team. The rider from Vasto took off the Ducati of the Goeleven team, the team with which he starts again in his second chapter of his career. After the four-year disqualification, the Abruzzo native relaunches himself on the Panigale V4R, which will start again in 2024 with new colours.
New Year, new project, new livery: abandoning the turquoise that has been the trademark of recent years, Goeleven returns to adopt yellow, but this time it is not just a trim, but the dominant color. The Panigale V4R of #29 is in fact completely yellow and almost recalls the special Ducati that the official bearers had used in the Misano round (and that the MotoGP riders had shown off at Misano).
Andrea Iannone, Team Goeleven WorldSBK
It will be a crucial year for Andrea Iannone, who with great enthusiasm begins a new chapter after the long forced stop. This is how he makes his debut in the Superbike World Championship and has already taken to the track for winter testing. The rider from Vasto represented one of the surprises on the grid, showing himself in form despite the “rust” he had to shake off and the great competitiveness of his opponents.
Now everything is really ready to fly to Australia, where he will take to the track with the new colors to test himself in what will be the inaugural round of 2024. Before competing, it will be time to carry out the very last tests, which will also be held in Phillip Island. The Australian track will provide the first answers, but in the meantime Iannone has “played the charge” by highlighting himself both in Jerez de la Frontera and in Portimao, where the production derivatives carried out winter testing.
