The World Superbike Championship is reaching its final stages and this weekend it stops in Estoril, where the penultimate round of the season will be staged. On the Portuguese track, the world championship challenge between Toprak Razgatlioglu and Nicolò Bulega is renewed, with the Ducati rider able to recover several points in the championship during the absence of the Turk, who however returned to Aragon in great shape after the injury.
Thus, the BMW driver enters the Portuguese round with an advantage of 39 points over rookie of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team and already has his first match point. In fact, Razgatlioglu could close the games a round earlier than the end of the championship, but Bulega won’t leave him too much margin. Further from the top is Alvaro Bautista, who is 81 points behind the leader and 42 from his teammate. But third position still makes everything possible and, even if difficult, the reigning champion doesn’t give up and he proved it two weeks ago in Aragon, where he had a sumptuous round.
Apart from the fight for the title, the three will engage in a fight without discounts, as we have already seen in Aragon, but other outsiders will also enter. First of all, Andrea Iannone, who returned to success on Spanish Saturday after a very long fast. The Goeleven team driver has re-acquired a taste for it and will want to continue along this line. We must not forget Danilo Petrucci, who after the hat-trick in Cremona had a solid weekend in Aragon and is ready to be part of the game. Kawasaki, Yamaha and also Honda are fighting for positions close to the podium and there will certainly be no shortage of spectacle on the track.
You will be able to follow all the action of the Estoril round live on Sky Sport MotoGP (channel 208) starting from Friday, while TV8 will broadcast the two long races and the Superpole Race in free-to-air broadcast. Pay attention to the times, which will be moved by an hour due to the time difference with Portugal, which is an hour behind Italy.
