The uncertainty of the weather accompanied the Superbike throughout the Dutch round and Race 2 was no different: starting in dry conditions, it saw rain appear halfway through the race and then allowed the riders to continue without changing tyres. The one to prevail in a second heat full of unknowns and battles was Toprak Razgatlioglu, author of a comeback race that allowed him to outwit Alvaro Bautista in the final, who was much more favored for the victory.
There was no shortage of brawls during all the laps of the race and the reigning world champion was a great protagonist, trying to end the weekend with success, but had to settle for second place at the finish line. Andrea Iannone was inserted between the two Yamaha riders and, after a complicated Superpole Race due to the tyres, he redeemed himself by fighting hard to try to get on the podium. The Goeleven rider remained fourth, Ducati second at the finish line. Sixth position for Michael van der Mark, who closed the home event in sixth position, despite having experienced the thrill of podium positions thanks to the many brawls that took place during Race 2.
Seventh Sam Lowes, further behind the top six group who fought hard for the podium positions. The Briton of the Marc VDS team preceded Dominique Aegerter, eighth on the other Yamaha of the GRT team. The Swiss managed to stay ahead of Nicolo Bulega, who was in more difficulty than his teammate and the rest of the group. Race 2 to forget for Jonathan Rea, who started very well when the traffic lights went out and fought for the top positions in the early stages of the race. However, the Yamaha rider's consistency wore off as the laps went by and he remained in traffic. His Sunday ended in the gravel after a contact with teammate Alex Lowes, who suffered a bruise to the second finger of his right hand.
Michael Ruben Rinaldi was also in difficulty, only 13th with the Ducati of the Motocorsa team. Race 1 winner Nicholas Spinelli struggled the most on Sunday in the Netherlands, finishing in 18th position. Axel Bassani was very late and did not go beyond 18th position.
