Culiacán, Sinaloa.- Last Friday, April 1, in the Official Newspaper of the State Government, the call was published by which the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock calls on livestock producers to participate in the genetic improvement program.
The program, in accordance with what is established in the call, has the purpose of improving breeding, weight gain at weaning, development and fattening of cattle to obtain greater performance, in addition, to provide better genetic characteristics to cattle to improve production performance. of milk and meat and improve the reproductive, health, quality and economic parameters of cattle herds.
The program is aimed at primary producers from the 18 municipalities of the state that meet the following requirements: that the project is within the geographical coverage of the program, that is, within the state of Sinaloa; that is registered in the National Livestock Register; that has negative tests for brucellosis and tuberculosis with 60 days of validity; Unique Population Registry Code (CURP); and proof of address of the Production Unit not older than three months.

The economic support may be up to 50 percent of the total cost of the stallion with a limit of up to 20 thousand pesos for bovine stallions; for the genetic improvement program, support will be provided for the acquisition of bovine semen by the artificial insemination method and will be according to the age of the reproductive females registered in the National Livestock Register.
The amount of support for insemination consists of 100 doses of semen per producer with a maximum cost of 300 pesos per dose and the application of semen is included.
In the call, it is specified that the artificial insemination program is aimed at supporting low-income producers who need to improve their herds genetically with proven bulls of different breeds in the southern, central and northern areas of the state, being a public program and totally gratuitous.
