The “Sawab” Center warned of the existence of collective electronic games that lead young people to extremism, calling on parents to intensify surveillance of their children while playing electronic games and surfing the Internet.
The center confirmed in tweets posted on its Twitter account that it may not be possible to prevent children from playing video games to protect them, but parents can specify a period for games and verify their content and messages, and know the groups through which they may communicate with children.
He warned that extremism is pushing towards isolation and breaking family and community ties in order to weaken its victims and facilitate their recruitment, so it is the duty of parents to remain close to every member of the family, and to understand what is happening in their lives to protect them from the dangers of extremism.
He stated that both security experts and psychologists agreed that individuals who grew up in families filled with unrest and lacking family warmth are more likely to fall prey to extremist propaganda and electronic recruitment by terrorist organizations.
In a related context, the “Sawab” Center warned that “ISIS” is trying with its twisted propaganda to disappear the minds of young people, with the aim of subjugating and controlling them to achieve ill ends in the hearts of the followers of misguidance, pointing out that their messages contain imprecise religious provisions cut from their context, the outward appearance of religiosity and the consecration Ignorance and trafficking in religion, as adherents of delusion use texts other than their subject matter to spread hatred between beliefs that called for compassion, tolerance and the reconstruction of society.
He stated that social media platforms are an open space for everyone, filled with news, anecdotes and useful information, and you may find lies and misleading calls for followers of misguidance. And he cautioned that the followers of misguidance promote a great delusion in order to deceive the youth who are trying to recruit them, so the delusional of them leaves his family and his homeland for the sake of an unreal image to follow the path of terror and ruin.
He stressed that combating extremism is the duty of everyone who wants security, stability, and the progress of his country and society, stressing that cohesion is the most important factor in combating poisonous ideas that are spread by the followers of misguidance.
It is worth noting that the “Sawab” Center is the joint Emirati-American digital initiative to combat extremist ideology via the Internet and promote positive alternatives. At the end of last year, it launched a new campaign on its social media platforms by tagging # ISIS-lies. # ISIS lies is the fifty-second digital campaign of the “Sawab” center, in which the center recounts the stories of former ISIS members who talk about their reasons for traveling to fight in the ranks of the terrorist organization, to be shocked afterwards by the falsehood of ISIS’s promises to the utopian city and the application of Islam, which were nothing but lies and false promises. .
The campaign featured stories highlighting how ISIS exploited its followers and internet users, including those who had recently converted to Islam who needed guidance and sought more information about the religion, or troubled individuals who were already inclined to extremism.

Since its launch in July 2015, the Sawab Center has been supporting the efforts of governments, societies, and individual voices to proactively engage in countering extremism online.
