The Saudi Crown Prince added during the opening of the first year of the ninth session of the Shura Council: “Unemployment among male and female citizens recorded its lowest level in history in the first quarter of 2024, reaching 7.6 percent, after it was 12.8 percent in 2017.”
Prince Mohammed bin Salman pointed out that Saudi Arabia has achieved “many fundamental accomplishments,” and explained that non-oil activities in the Kingdom recorded their highest contribution to the real GDP at 50 percent during the past year.
In the field of tourism, Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia has exceeded the target date, as the national tourism strategy launched in 2019 set a target of 100 million tourists in 2030, and this target was exceeded and 109 million tourists were reached in 2023.
He added: “The Kingdom has achieved the sixteenth rank among the most competitive countries, and with the exploration of natural resources, the Kingdom has become one of the largest natural resource stores in the world. Saudi Arabia has also achieved an advanced position in the field of renewable energy, and has become one of the most active players in it regionally and internationally.”
