The Royal Commission for Makkah and the Holy Sites and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed the statistical information for the Hajj season 1442 AH.
The authority and the ministry indicated, in a joint statement today, Wednesday, that the number of pilgrims this year reached 58,518, due to the new Corona virus.
The number of women reached 25,702 pilgrims, and men 32,816 pilgrims.
The statement indicated that the number of Saudi pilgrims reached more than 33,000, including more than 16,000 women and 16,753 men, while the number of resident pilgrims reached more than 25,000.
The statement revealed that the pilgrims were distributed in the holy places according to four zones, represented in the red zone in which the number of registered pilgrims reached more than 16,900 pilgrims, the green zone in which the number of pilgrims reached more than 20,000 pilgrims, and the blue zone in which the number of pilgrims reached 12,476 pilgrims The number of pilgrims in the yellow zone reached more than 9 thousand.
This year, the Saudi authorities have taken measures to make the performance of the rituals for pilgrims between the ages of 18 and 65 years, who have fully completed their vaccinations against the Corona virus, and do not suffer from chronic diseases.
The Saudi authorities also stipulated that all workers and those assigned to work on Hajj this year, receive two doses of the “Covid-19” vaccine approved in the Kingdom.
