Saudi Arabia announces that the Hajj season is free of diseases

Today, Monday, Saudi Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdul Rahman Al-Jalajil announced the success of the health plans for this year’s Hajj, and that it is free from any outbreaks or effects on public health.

Al-Jalajil said, in a statement read today from the headquarters of Mina Emergency Hospital: that more than 230 health facilities have worked across all health sectors, to provide services to the pilgrims, through medical points on the Al-Mashaer Train and the Al-Haramain Train, in the central area of ​​the Holy Mosque, and in all the holy sites. And various outlets, with the aim of providing all services for primary care and specialized medical services for pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims in the easiest and most effective way, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

He added that the number of pilgrims who received health services amounted to about 130,000 pilgrims, 10 open-heart surgeries were performed, more than 187 cardiac catheters were performed, in addition to 447 dialysis sessions, with the provision of virtual services through the Virtual Health Hospital for more than 2,000 pilgrims, which contributed to providing more From 25,000 health practitioners and 2,000 volunteers.

Al-Jalajel pointed out that the Saudi Red Crescent Authority provided support to emergency cases by providing a flying ambulance service to transport injured pilgrims around the clock, as air ambulance cases amounted to more than 17 cases at a rate of 29 minutes. Al-Jalajil confirmed that a limited number of people infected with the Corona virus were recorded in the holy sites, amounting to 38 cases, without registering secondary cases, and they were dealt with according to health protocols, while facilitating their mission to complete their pilgrimage.

He praised the role of the participating government agencies and the integration in providing all services, which had a significant role in the success of the health plans for this year’s Hajj.
