Yesterday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States stressed the importance of resolving international disputes through diplomatic means and mitigating humanitarian crises by providing economic and financial support to the countries in the region most in need, stressing the importance of the principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the need to support regional governments that face the threat of terrorists or affiliated groups supported by external forces.
This came in the final statement of an official meeting held by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with US President Joe Biden, in the presence of senior officials from both sides.

The United States welcomed the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the balance of global oil markets in order to achieve sustainable economic growth.

The US side praised the Green Saudi Initiatives and the Green Middle East, and welcomed the Kingdom’s recent participation in the Forum of Major Economies of Climate and Energy, its accession to the Global Methane Pledge, its position as a founding member of the Zero Neutrality Forum for energy producers, and the Kingdom’s announcement of its target to produce 50% of electricity through renewable energy by 2030.
The two sides emphasized that the energy transition and national security considerations of both Saudi Arabia and the United States require stable and diversified supply chains. In this regard, the United States welcomed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s support for the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment initiative, announced by President Biden at the Group of Seven summit on June 26, 2022.
President Biden emphasized the strong and enduring commitment of the United States to support the security and defense of Saudi Arabia, and to facilitate the Kingdom’s ability to obtain all capabilities necessary to defend its people and lands against external threats.
The two sides stressed the importance of maintaining the free movement of trade through the strategic international sea lanes, particularly Bab al-Mandab and the Strait of Hormuz, and welcomed the newly established Joint Task Force 153 to focus on the security of the Bab al-Mandab Strait in the Red Sea, and to further deter illegal smuggling into Yemen.
The two sides welcomed the strengthening of cooperation in all areas of space exploration, including astronaut flights, Earth observation, commercial development, systems and procedures, and responsible conduct in outer space.
