The municipality of Greater São Paulo started to put at the end of the queue for vaccination against covid-19 people who go to health centers but refuse to take the immunizing agent due to the manufacturer of the dose. O new protocol started to take effect as of yesterday. According to the city, this week alone, at least 300 people refused to be vaccinated at the time of application of the dose when they became aware of the brand of immunizing agent.
The person who gives up vaccinating due to the brand of immunizing agent will have to wait for the end of the immunization process of the entire adult population of the city to have access to the vaccine dose again.
To apply the measure, the city is making available at vaccination posts a term of “rejection and responsibility”, which must be signed by people who refuse to receive a dose of vaccine.
The document is attached to the patient’s medical record of the municipal health network, informing that the city offered the vaccine within the calendar and within the deadline stipulated by the National and State Immunization plans and that the person refused to take the dose.
