Santiago Taboada, candidate for Head of Government for the “Va X La CDMX” coalitionmade an urgent call to merchants from Tepito, as well as the inhabitants of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office and throughout Mexico City, to go out and vote on June 2 to ensure the victory of the opposition alliance.
During his message, Taboada emphasized the importance of this democratic act for the future of the city and the country.
“We are practically 10 days away from the change arriving in the country and reaching the city, and that is why this message is for us to go out and vote on June 2, so that we know what we are risking…What we are risking “It is the future not only of Cuauhtémoc but of the city and the country,” said the former mayor of Benito Juárez.
In his speech, Santiago Taboada committed to reinstating Popular Insurance, so that all inhabitants who lack social security can access free medical care. “
I am going to return together with Xóchitl, the Popular insurance for all of you. Universal coverage, so that if they get sick, so that if their children have to go to the doctor, they will be treated and it will cost them absolutely nothing; “This city cannot be a city of rights if health continues to be a problem.”
Accompanied by Xóchitl Gálvez, candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, and Alessandra Rojo de la Vega, candidate for mayor of Cuauhtémoc, Taboada also addressed the issue of housing, highlighting that during Morena’s six-year term, few constructions were carried out in the capital.
“We want, of course, we want order, but we also want you to have the right to housing. We have a great deal to do because it was the Morena administration in which the least social housing was made in the city. That’s why I want to tell you, I have a commitment so that these commercial spaces are not only sales spaces, but we can also use them for homes,” he stressed.
Taboada made clear his commitment not to increase the Metro fare, responding to concerns and rumors about a possible increase in the cost of public transportation. “There is no better security, nor is there more water, nor is the Metro better, which, by the way, is falling apart and they were able, through their lies, to invent (say) that we were going to raise it to 25 pesos. Look, the Metro It stays at 5 pesos, but I’m not going to lose it. The Metro is going to be the best Metro in the country,” he concluded.
In his message, Taboada also urged citizens not to be carried away by Morena’s “lies and desperation,” reaffirming the need for a change in the city’s management. “What we are at stake is the future of Cuauhtémoc, the city and the country,” he insisted, inviting everyone to exercise their right to vote to ensure a better future.
Santiago Taboada reiterated the importance of citizen participation to ensure the victory of the opposition alliance and expressed his commitment to improving the quality of life of the capital’s residents through inclusive and effective policies.
“I want to ask you a favor; these days I need you to help us so that people do not fall into Morena’s lies and desperation,” he concluded, underlining the importance of the next electoral process.
