Grupo Santander and the collaboration of various university institutions have launched a call that supports young people at a higher level who are developing projects that promote equity, diversity and inclusion.
The National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), Center for Design and Communication SC (CENTRO), Federation of Private Mexican Institutions of Higher Education (FIMPES), Grupo Santander and Universidad Insurgentes launch the call for the scholarship “Initiatives for equity, diversity and inclusion”.

The main objective of this program is to recognize, encourage and promote university projects that promote equity, diversity and inclusion in higher education institutions in Mexico.
Call details
The call will remain open until next May 30, 2024inviting students, administrators, researchers and teachers from any higher level school in Mexico to participate in teams of minimum 2 and maximum 5 members.
There are two categories in which teams can participate to obtain the Santander scholarship: project launch, aimed at new initiatives that promote equality and inclusion; and project continuity, for those projects that seek to expand their impact.
The evaluation of the projects will be based on criteria such as Institutional Impact, Evaluation and monitoring indicators, Promotion of female leadership (if applicable) and Potential for replicability.
The Santander scholarship for equity will grant a total of 300 thousand pesos in prizesdistributed between the winning team in the Project Launch category and the winning team in the Project Continuity category, both with 150 thousand pesos each.
The requirements to participate include being over 18 years of age, belonging to a Mexican Higher Education Institution, having a work team of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 members, and registering the project on the portal www.santanderopenacademy.com attaching the required documentation. .
The scholarship process consists of three main phases: Registration and Evaluation, Announcement of Winners and Project Implementation. The projects will be evaluated by a committee based on the established criteria, and the results will be published on June 2, 2024 at www.santanderopenacademy.com, in addition to sending email notifications to those selected. The winning teams must implement their projects with the funding awarded.
Participants will be able to verify the results by logging into the portal www.santanderopenacademy.com and will receive notification by email, with 3 days to confirm their participation.
