According to the Russian agency Tass, the general director of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, has sent these requirements by letter to the US space agencies (NASA), Canada, and the European Union (ESA), all of them involved in this international project.
At the same time, Russia will optimize the budget by adjusting it to the geopolitical reality that has been created after the invasion of Ukraine by the Russians unleashed on February 24 and the international sanctions that have been imposed on Moscow.

“Roscosmos plans to optimize the budget that will be spent on the implementation of the ISS project,” the state agency said after a meeting of its board chaired by its executive director, Dmitry Rogozin.
Previously, Rogozin stated that the work on the ISS has not been entirely efficient amid the current geopolitical situation, saying that large funds would be required to extend the operation of the station until 2030 as planned, otherwise it would fall apart.

On February 24, US President Joe Biden stated that the sanctions imposed by Washington and its allies would affect, in addition to finances, the Russian high-tech sector.
According to Biden, the US will cut more than half of high-tech imports to Russia, which, among other things, will negatively affect the country’s space program.
