The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has defended this Friday the state strategy that the Executive is developing to fight the coronavirus, and has assured that both the state of alarm and its measures and the vaccination plan “are working”, despite criticism from the opposition and some autonomous communities.
In addition, he has once again called for unity and has assured that, despite the “ferocious attacks” that he sometimes receives in response, he will not be “discouraged” and will continue to appeal to everyone’s agreement, because ” no misfortune distinguishes political colors ».
“Nature, with the storm ‘Filomena’, has once again taught us a great lesson, which is that no misfortune distinguishes political colors. Not natural disasters, not disease, not economic setbacks. All our compatriots suffer from the same problems and the response of the representatives should be the same. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, “he said.
This has been assured during the act that he has starred in Aragon together with the regional president, Javier Lambán, to present The Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Spanish Economy at the Zaragoza Conference Center.
According to Sánchez, the attitude of some representatives who reject unity or the fact that their calls have sometimes fallen “on deaf ears” or have been answered “with ferocious attacks” is “all the more reason” to continue working to achieve it. “It does not discourage me,” he has guaranteed.
The president has specifically referred to the “failures in unity” that have occurred in the parliamentary sphere, although he has defended that they have been supplied in Europe, with the agreement of European funds, or in the autonomous sphere, with the co-governance strategy launched by the Government since the summer to manage the fight against the pandemic.
This has been assured, despite the fact that many regional governments criticize the Government for said strategy, and almost all have unsuccessfully demanded that it modify the state of alarm in order to toughen some of the measures, such as the curfew, to advance it.
“We have a proven state strategy. We know how to round the third corner. It has been approved by all the autonomous communities, with common indicators, common actions, and enough time to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures we implement. We also have accumulated experience and a clear direction on how to deal with it ”, he claimed.
