Even in San Marino, the oldest republic in the world, abortion is legal
Last year the Republic of the Titan had already established that abortion was no longer a crime. After a long mediation, yesterday 31 August the Great and General Council approved with 32 votes in favor, 7 against and 10 abstentions the law governing voluntary termination of pregnancy.
Concretely, it will be possible to take advantage of the law from its entry into force, scheduled for the fifth day following that of its legal publication.
Voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG) in Italy is regulated by the law 194 of 22 May 1978confirmed by the referendum of 1981.
