“As the heavy vehicle automotive industry in Mexico, we have enormous potential to continue maintaining our leadership worldwide, but it will depend a lot on regional energy security and that we guarantee supplies from clean fuels to electricity in the future, obviously at competitive prices, and continue to strengthen the rule of lawElizalde explained.
Guillermo Rosales, executive president of the Mexican Association of Automotive Dealers (AMDA)said that in front of nearshoringMexico has possibilities to increase investments, but it must also provide elements to promote them.
“We must be very clear that we are competing in this possibility of attracting investment with regions of Canada, the United States and Mexico, And the bottom line has to do with many factors on the part of investors.
“A fundamental issue is legal certainty, the possibility of having guaranteed energy in terms of endowment, but also in terms of competitive price,” Rosales explained.
But to recover security, he pointed out, the guarantee to be able to circulate freely, at any time and in any place, without having the risk of being affected in lifein health or material goods, for people and for companies, it is also a fundamental factor for generate the investment.
If these aspects are addressed, Mexico will have many benefits in investment and employment termsbut it should be taken into account that the opportunities that are currently presented, such as the nearshoringthey will not have a long time, highlighted Rosales.
