A podium, 68 points scored in ten races and seventh place in the drivers’ standings, just 12 points behind his teammate Charles Leclerc. While waiting to complete the Hungarian GP, which will mark the ‘official’ turning point of this first half of the Ferrari season, the budget for Carlos Sainz appears to be positive. The Spaniard, among the riders who changed teams during the winter, seems to be the one who has adapted most easily to the new reality. Certainly there were some mistakes, but just the fact that the Madrid driver is ahead of Daniel Ricciardo – his replacement in McLaren – in the drivers’ standings, testifies to the goodness of his approach to the Prancing Horse.
Analyzing the first part of this long and particular season, in anticipation of the long-awaited revolution of 2022, Sainz also highlighted his margins for improvement.. “I am satisfied with how it went so far. Between qualifying, pit stop, race, tire management and overtaking, for my part there has been very good progress compared to the first race – commented the son of art – i am confident that in the second part of the season we will see a more consistent and overall even better Carlos“. A wish certainly shared by all the fans of the red.
