RIYADH (Reuters) – Petrochemical producer Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) said on Thursday its joint venture with Exxon Mobil Corp. in the U.S. Gulf Coast, which includes an ethylene production unit, has begun commercial operations.
SABIC stated in a disclosure to the stock exchange that the company had announced on September 19 plans to establish an ethylene production unit with a production capacity of about 1.8 million tons annually.
It said the unit would feed two polyethylene production units, without revealing financial details.
