“Literally just now, the condition of Mikhail Saakashvili has seriously deteriorated. He couldn’t get out of bed. Now he must be evacuated to the intensive care unit, ”Yasko wrote on her Facebook page.
According to her, Saakashvili’s doctor is now inside the prison hospital, he commented on the condition of the ex-president.
“Time is ticking, friends. There are no miracles. Our president is getting worse every day. The decision will be his death, there is no other in medicine, ”the deputy overestimated the words of the medic.
Saakashvili’s beloved noted that she did not know where he could be transported.
Earlier on Saturday, supporters of the former Georgian president and the opposition United National Movement party gathered in front of the country’s parliament in Tbilisi to hold a political rally. it was noted that the main demand of the audience was the transfer of Saakashvili from prison to a regular hospital and his release.
The day before, on November 12, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asked Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili to allow his mother, relatives and Ukrainian doctors to see the former Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili.
On November 11, Saakashvili announced an end to the hunger strike, stating that “the hunger strike is becoming a weapon for the Russians and the current government” against him.
The former Georgian leader was forcibly taken from prison to hospital on November 8. A video appeared on the Web, which shows how the politician who has been on a hunger strike for more than 40 days evades the police officers accompanying him.
In turn, Saakashvili’s lawyer Nika Gvaramia called the transfer of the politician to the hospital abduction. The politician’s girlfriend Yelizaveta Yasko stated that Saakashvili’s transfer had not been coordinated with either his relatives or lawyers.
Saakashvili was detained on October 1 in Tbilisi after his return to Georgia on the eve of local elections. He illegally crossed the border of the country.
The ex-president was convicted in absentia in Georgia for the murder of banker Sandro Girgvliani and the beating of deputy Valery Gelashvili. In the first case, Saakashvili was sentenced to three years in prison, in the second – to six. He is also a defendant in the cases of dispersal of the opposition rally on November 7, 2007, the pogrom of the Imedi TV company and the embezzlement of funds from the state budget.
