Ryanair increases prices for hand baggage and priority boarding
Ryanair changes prices again for hand luggage and priority boarding: the low cost airline, in fact, has announced the new rates which will particularly concern the addition of a second piece of luggage.
The decision, which has already caused several protests due to the even greater gap between the initial and final prices, is explained by the Irish airline as necessary to adapt the costs to the fee for checking baggage at the gate.
The basic fare still includes one small hand baggage (40x20x25) which can be brought on board at no additional cost. The second hand baggage of maximum 10kg will cost between 11.99 and 29.99 if booked immediately and between 23.99 and 40 euros if added later.
The prices for 20kg baggage are even higher: the new rates include a cost between 18.99 and 59.99 if booked in advance and between 44 and 59.99 to add it later.
For each excess kilo, 12 euros will be charged, while special luggage, such as musical or sports equipment, costs 50 euros regardless of when the booking is made.
The cost of priority boarding, however, has now risen to a maximum of 60 euros compared to 20/38 euros previously. Those who book in advance will pay between 6 and 36 euros depending on the route and date.
