US Treasury: Russian investments in government bonds fall to record $24 million
Russia’s investment in US government bonds fell to a record $24 million in July, the lowest since early 2020, the RIA Novosti citing data from the US Treasury Department.
In June, investments in securities amounted to 44 million dollars, in May – 45 million, in April – 46 million. A year earlier, this figure was 29 million dollars and during the year it fluctuated between 28 and 73 million.
In September, the volume of Russian investments in long-term US bonds amounted to 22 million dollars and two million in short-term ones. Japan remains the largest holder of securities with an indicator of 1.115 trillion dollars, in second place is China (776.5 billion), in third place is Great Britain (728.3 billion).
In August, it became known that Russia would enter the top three largest economies in the world with the lowest public debt per capita by 2024.
