Odnoklassniki and LizaAlert will talk about helping people with dementia
The social network Odnoklassniki (OK), the volunteer search and rescue team LizaAlert and the Alzrus Foundation have begun cooperation. The topic of their first socially significant project will be dementia. Within its framework, Russians will be told how to help people with this disease, according to a press release received by the editorial office of Lenta.ru.
It is noted that the special project is dedicated to World Dementia Awareness Month. In the LizaAlert and Social Projects OK groups, you can find useful posts on how to recognize dementia, prevent a loved one suffering from this disease from disappearing, and what to do if a person with dementia is discovered.
On September 26, the search and rescue team group will host a live broadcast, where the speakers will be the coordinator of the LizaAlert team, Tatyana Aleksandrova, and the head of the Altsrus Foundation, Alexandra Shchetkina.
Since the beginning of 2024, the LizaAlert team has received more than 8,000 requests to search for elderly people, a third of which are related to dementia. According to Alzrus, every tenth person over 60 suffers from dementia, and at the very beginning this condition may be unnoticeable to others.
