From July 1, the procedure for issuing a Russian passport will be reduced to five days
From July 1, 2022, the period for issuing a Russian passport will be reduced to five days, regardless of the place of residence and the reasons for replacing it. This change in procedure was warned in the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Relevant Decree published on the government website.
The new rules will also apply with the introduction of a passport with an electronic carrier.
Currently, issuing a passport of a Russian citizen takes ten days if the documents were submitted at the place of residence, and 30 days in all other cases.
The passport reform, which was carried out as part of the digital transformation program of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, became known in the summer of 2021.
In addition to reducing the period for issuing a passport, laws will come into force in July 2022, thanks to which registration at the place of residence will be simplified, and in order to receive free medical care, it will not be necessary to have a compulsory medical insurance policy.
