Cybersecurity specialist Andrey Masalovich in an interview with RT told, which fraudulent schemes are especially common at the moment. He also explained how Russians can protect themselves from being exposed to scammers.
The analyst predicted a surge in fraud in the next two weeks. According to him, schemes based on social engineering are now becoming less and less common. However, attackers are trying to “infect the computer,” Masalovich warned the Russians. He urged to be more careful about e-mail – in particular, letters with attachments from strangers, and delete them.
“Therefore, categorically do not open letters with attachments from unfamiliar addresses, but it is better to erase them when you see them in the mailbox. If you are not expecting a letter from this address, it is better to delete it, whatever it may be,” he stressed.
Earlier it was reported that scammers came up with a new scheme with the distribution of money to victims. They began to transfer up to 15,000 rubles to the Russians in order to gain confidence in themselves.
