According to them, Russians rushed to buy real estate in Montenegro in early 2021. At the end of the first half of the year, demand for housing in this European country increased by 36 percent compared to the same period last year.
The steady dynamics of growth in the number of relevant appeals was noted for six months in a row, starting in December 2020. At the same time, according to experts, the demand for real estate in Montenegro has a pronounced seasonality. “The high season in the south of the country can be called the period from June to September, in the north of the country, the high season is December-January, when the demand for real estate in ski areas is growing,” experts explain.
As a rule, Russians come to Montenegro on vacation and at the same time look after real estate for themselves. “The deadline for the investment program is a little lost, since the end of September there will be a boom in passports, because those who thought, chose, analyzed and decided no longer have time. The program will definitely close on December 31, 2021, ”the realtors conclude.
You can obtain Montenegrin citizenship by investing in one of the approved real estate projects (from 250 thousand euros in the north of the country or from 450 thousand on the coast) and a contribution of 100 thousand to the state fund.
Earlier, in June, the Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro, Yakov Milatovic, called the Russians the largest owners of real estate in the republic. According to him, in 2020, Russians have become even more active in buying housing in the country, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
