The Russians began to buy air tickets en masse five to seven days before departure. Changing habits among tourists when booking travel reported “News”…
According to the official representative of Aeroflot, Mikhail Demin, most of the airlines with the beginning of the autumn season faced a drop in the depth of ticket sales on domestic and foreign routes. “People are not ready to plan trips in advance because they fear the introduction of new restrictions, including the closure of borders,” he said.
Another reason for refusing to buy tickets in advance was named by an employee of Smartavia. “There are several reasons. Among them is the end of the summer vacation period. This applies primarily to the southern directions, – she explained. “The preferences of passengers have not changed much, the circumstances have changed.”
The representative also added that currently travel documents are purchased in at least two to three days, and on average – in 7-14 days, while earlier the depth of sales was much greater and was calculated in several weeks.
According to the press secretary of S7 Airlines, Irina Dunkova, a similar trend emerged at the beginning of the pandemic, while now “the caution of passengers remains to some extent.”
Earlier in October, Aeroflot began massively selling tickets for domestic travel. The representatives of the organization announced that from 12 to 18 October passengers will be able to purchase economy air tickets for direct flights between the cities of the Russian Federation. The offer is valid for flights operated by Aeroflot, Rossiya and Aurora carriers.
