Tour operators explained to the Russians the requirements for documents when entering the country with children under 12 years old. This is reported on website Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).
According to experts, currently there is information that children registered in the parent’s passport may not be allowed into Egypt. It is argued that each resort sets its own entry rules – for example, when visiting Hurghada, a child must have a separate document from the age of five, in Sharm el-Sheikh – from the age of 14.
As stated in the travel company Anex Tour, children under 12 years old have the right to be entered in the parents’ passport. In this case, the child’s photo must be pasted into the document, and the photo must also have the stamp of the passport and visa service. “The absence of a photograph or print, as well as the handwriting of the details of the entered child is the basis for refusing to cross the border,” the travel agency said.
Representatives of the tour operator Tez Tour said that persons over 12 years of age are required to have their own passport to travel to Egypt.
Also, experts noticed that if a tourist has a new generation passport with an electronic carrier on a plastic page, then only one person can fly to Egypt using it. In this case, the registration of a separate document for the child becomes mandatory.
Earlier in October, Egyptian embassy officials in Moscow warned tourists about the shortage of rooms in five-star hotels due to the “unprecedented influx” of Russians. It is noted that in other price segments there is no shortage of rooms at the popular resort. In addition, the country has lifted the restriction on hotel occupancy and in the near future the number of available places will only grow.
