Russian Dina Averina won silver in the individual all-around rhythmic gymnastics at the Tokyo Olympics. The correspondent of “Lenta.ru” informs about it.
Based on the results of exercises with four objects, Averina received 107.650 points and was left without gold. Bronze was won by an athlete from Belarus Alina Gornosko. The gold medal went to the Israeli Lina Ashram. Another Russian woman – Arina Averina – came in fourth.
During the competition, Russian coaches filed four protests against the judges for marks. Only one of them was satisfied.
Since 2000, the Russian national team has always won all gold medals in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympics. The last time the Russians left without victories was from the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
The Tokyo Olympics have been postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The competition will end on Sunday, August 8th.
