A Russian tourist who visited the Dominican Republic named the pros and cons of a vacation in a Latin American country. She shared her impressions of the holiday with the portal “Subtleties of tourism”, her review was published on the platform “Yandex.Zen”.

First of all, the traveler warned that the service at the resort is slow, as the locals are very lazy. In addition, in the Dominican Republic, according to the tourist, there are more natural attractions than historical ones. Among other things, the woman drew attention to the fact that Russian-language cafes and excursions will cost much more, since only English and Spanish are spoken in the country. She was also upset by the fact that cheap souvenirs are sold at inflated prices.

“What exactly is so Dominican about it? Rum, bachata and (sorry) cheap ladies of easy behavior are the three main components of the local color, ”the Russian woman listed the features of the Dominican Republic.

The traveler gave some tips on how to make your vacation better. For example, she recommended not to stay in hotels that have been operating for a long time – according to her, repairs or renovations are not carried out in such facilities “to the last”. In addition, according to the woman, it is better to visit the islands and reserves as part of excursions, and you can get to the cities on your own.

“Don’t let the tales of scary Haitians who are ready to chop you with a machete at every turn scare you. Take a taxi (or rent a car), look for information on the districts, here you can see with the naked eye “Go there, but don’t go here.” If you have basic knowledge of English, you can do it, get a lot of impressions, chat with the locals, they are really cool. They sing and dance just like that, because the mood is good!” – the tourist described the situation.

Earlier in February, tour operators revealed to domestic tourists the optimal cost of tours with accommodation in luxury hotels in the Dominican Republic in the spring. Thus, the minimum price of a weekly vacation at the resorts of the republic with a departure from Moscow on March 5 will be 169.4 thousand rubles for two travelers.
