A resident of Omsk Svetlana Chernova, who for 35 years occupied a rusty iron barrel, refused to move. Representatives of the local administration told about this. RIA News…
The Russian woman was offered to move from a barrel to a gerontological center, which provides social services to citizens of older age groups. However, the woman refused and asked the authorities to supply electricity to the existing housing.
The administration noted that they visited the woman in April, September and October 2021. She was also offered to live in a boarding house, but she did not agree.
Earlier, the situation with Chernov was taken over by the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SK) Alexander Bastrykin. He instructed the regional Investigative Committee to investigate the circumstances of the violation of the rights of a resident.
Chernova’s living conditions became known in October. She moved into a barrel in the 1980s when she worked at the Omsk plant and was in line to receive a one-room apartment. The barrel was supposed to be a temporary housing, but soon the plant closed, and the woman was unable to get her own housing.
