RIA Novosti: presenter Lazareva believes that her status as a foreign agent is preventing her from working
Russian TV presenter Tatyana Lazareva (recognized by the Russian Ministry of Justice as a foreign agent, included in the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring) believes that her status as a foreign agent prevents her from doing her professional work. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing court documents.
“In this case, there is a violation of professional rights and the impossibility of carrying out professional activities. The issuance of such an order is discrimination,” the documents say. In addition, Lazareva believes that the status of a foreign agent evokes associations that undermine public trust in her.
On June 13, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put Lazareva on the wanted list. The TV presenter left Russia in March 2022. In July of the same year, the Ministry of Justice added Lazareva to the register of foreign agents. Later, information appeared that she lives in Spain.
Earlier it became known that the TV presenter appealed to the Supreme Court of Russia the refusal to remove her status as a foreign agent, but her claim was denied.
