Russian skier Natalya Nepryaeva on Sunday, February 20, retired from the mass start distance at the Olympic Games (OI) in Beijing.
It is noted that Nepryaeva refused to continue the race after the first 5 km. The length of the distance, at the same time, is 30 km, writes “Sport Express“.
The reasons are not specified.
At the Beijing Olympics, Nepryaeva became the champion in the women’s relay, the silver medalist in the skiathlon and the bronze medalist in the team sprint.
In addition to Nepryaeva, the ROC team in the mass start is represented by Tatyana Sorina, Anastasia Rygalina and Maria Istomina.
On February 12, the skiers of the national team of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) won the 4 x 5 km relay.
