Earlier, on July 26, Velikaya lost to Pozdnyakova in the final of individual saber fencers – 11:15. Games in Tokyo were the fourth in the career of the 36-year-old Great. She won Olympic silver three times in the individual championship (2012, 2016, 2020) and became the champion in Rio de Janeiro as part of the team.
The Tokyo Olympics will run until August 8th. The competition was postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
