Novorossiysk – Moscow Patriarch Kirill fell during a service broadcast live on TV. The service was held in southern Russia on Saturday (June 25) and was dedicated to the dedication of a church in the southern Russian port and naval base of Novorossiysk. The fall had no consequences “thanks to God’s grace,” Kirill said on Saturday, according to the Ria Nowosti news agency.
The 75-year-old swung a holy water cauldron shortly before the fall, causing holy water to fall onto the ground. On this, Kirill slipped while walking. His fall was due “to the laws of physics”. “The floor is beautiful, you can see your reflection in it, it’s so shiny and smooth. But if water gets on it, even if it’s holy water, the laws of physics work”, so he was unlucky “slipped”, according to Kirill. He was able to continue the Mass after his fall.
