In the LPR, investigators arrested in absentia 16 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the case of shelling civilians
In the LPR, as part of an investigation into the use of prohibited methods in an armed conflict, Russian investigators prosecuted 16 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). About this on Thursday, March 16, informs regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).
According to the investigation, from 2016 to December 2022, Ukrainian military personnel carried out over 3,000 shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure, which cost the lives of 800 civilians, including young children. 16 accused were chosen in absentia as a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
In the settlements of Severodonetsk, Stakhanov, Bryanka, Voronovo and Metelkino, work is underway to establish burial sites and extract the remains, for which medical and forensic examinations are scheduled to identify the dead, as well as the nature of the injuries.
On February 4, captured Ukrainian soldier Vladislav Kulyk confessed to shooting eight civilians in Mariupol in March 2022.
