The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation called it premature to discuss specific dates for the resumption of air services between the country and European tourist destinations popular with Russians.
The department noted that the threat of the spread of coronavirus infection on a global scale still persists, therefore, care must be taken for the positive trends that have emerged recently.
“Therefore, the decision to resume regular passenger flights should be carefully worked out and taken taking into account the current epidemiological situation both in our country and in the world as a whole,” the ministry said. TASS 16 of September.
Earlier, the European Union again did not include Russia in the list of states with which the alliance countries are allowed to open external borders.
The list is reviewed approximately every two weeks based on the epidemiological situation and measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The last time the EU services discussed it on September 2, also left unchanged. The USA and Russia were not included there.
Since March 27, Russia has closed regular and charter international flights, carriers can only operate special flights to return passengers home. On August 1, Russia resumed international air travel to the UK, Turkey and Tanzania, and from August 15 to Switzerland.
