Russian forces have made territorial gains in the fighting around the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian sources.
In its report on the situation on Tuesday evening, the Ukrainian General Staff said that Russia “carried out an attack in the Pokrovsky region, with partial success, and fortified itself at the southern end of the region.”
Pokrovsky is a residential area 10 km to the east of the important transportation center “Bakhmut” in the Donetsk region. The Seversk-Solidar-Bakhmut line is the next line of defense against the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
In southern Ukraine, in the Kherson region, the Ukrainian General Staff reported artillery and tank battles without a change in the front line.
