Automotive expert Yegor Vasiliev named a way to extend the life of tires in an interview with the Prime agency.
Vasiliev advised Russian drivers to use the correct driving style, which does not involve abrupt starts and brakes. Otherwise, the front wheels begin to slip, this leads to wear on the outer sidewalls.
According to the expert, the inner sidewalls of a rear-wheel drive car may be worn out. This is dangerous because such wear is not visible and can reduce the stability of the machine when cornering.
Vasiliev urged to monitor the condition of the tires, controlling the pressure in them and the geometry of the suspension, as well as a number of other parameters. He noted that this will save up to 20 percent of the rubber resource.
Earlier it was reported that during the coronavirus pandemic, many faulty cars appeared on Russian roads. Analysts of the Gruzdev Analyze company said that the reason for the new danger is that during the crisis, citizens began to save on car maintenance. According to the company’s research, 39 percent of motorists surveyed in March 2021 will postpone a trip to a car service until the last moment. At the same time, most often Russian drivers save on tuning and accessories (65 percent of respondents), in second place – savings on wheels and disks (35 percent), third place was taken by body problems (28 percent).
