Critic of the war in Ukraine, Russian businessman Alex Konanykhin has offered $1 million to anyone who arrests President Vladimir Putin. In a post on social media, he points out that he does not want to assassinate the president of Russia, but to take him to justice to answer for crimes against humanity.
“I promise to pay $1 million to the officer who, in accordance with his constitutional duty, holds Putin as a prisoner of war under Russian and international law,” Konanykhin posted.

In the first message, the businessman had posted a photo of “Wanted dead or alive”, but Facebook removed the post. He reinforced his intention to arrest Putin, not assassinate him.
Konanykhin criticizes Putin’s rise to power: “He violated the Constitution by eliminating free elections and murdering his opponents.”
Putin carries the suspicion – never confirmed or investigated by Russian police – of mysterious deaths linked to his main political opponents in Russia. Chief among them is the oligarch Boris Berezovsky, found dead in his home from suffocation, but with no signs of violence.
“As a Russian by ethnicity and a Russian citizen, I see it as my moral duty to facilitate the ‘denazification’ of Russia. I will continue my assistance to Ukraine in its heroic efforts to withstand the onslaught of Putin’s horde,” Konanykhin continued.
With the dismantling of the Soviet Union and the privatization of its companies, Konanykhin became the richest man in Russia in 1992. In 1996, he was arrested in the United States on charges of embezzling $8 million from the Russian Exchange Bank.
The businessman claimed to have been coerced into committing the crime – investigations link a Russian mafia to the case. Konanykhin is currently a cryptocurrency investor, lives in California and works on the Unicorn Hunters program, which accelerates startups and start-ups.
