The fortune of Russian billionaires has increased by $17.8 billion since the beginning of the year
Russian billionaires have become even richer since the beginning of the year. The total wealth of businessmen increased by $17.76 billion, analysts report RIA News with reference to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).
At the moment, it includes 26 Russians, their total assets are estimated at $351.67 billion. BBI is calculated based on the share price of companies in which entrepreneurs have a stake. Most noticeably in 2024, the assets of the former beneficiary of the Eurochem and SUEK companies Andrey Melnichenko increased – by 6.28 billion dollars, to 25.1 billion. He ranks sixth in the list of the richest Russians.

One of the main owners of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin, remains in first place ($31 billion, minus 54.4 million since the beginning of the year), the top five also includes co-owner of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov (plus $2.78 billion, up to 27. 4 billion), beneficiary of NLMK Vladimir Lisin (plus 1.84 billion, up to $25.8 billion), beneficiary of Severstal Alexey Mordashov (plus $4.83 billion, up to 25.7 billion) and co-owner of Novatek Leonid Mikhelson (minus $2.19 billion, up to 25.3 billion).
Earlier, billionaire families in the US and Southeast Asia spoke about the most significant risks for business over the next five years. They feel the greatest threat from government plans to raise taxes. Also on their list were such items as “major geopolitical conflict” and “financial market crisis.”
