United States impose economic sanctions on a number of Russian oligarchs and the Russian president Vladimir Putin against the spokesperson.

The U.S. presidential administration announced new sanctions Thursday night.

Sanctions are being imposed due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, including the founder of the mining company Metalloinvest Aliser Usmanoville and Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskoville.

The sanctions list also includes Arkadi Rotenberg and Boris Rotenbergwho also has Finnish citizenship.

The United States the presidential administration describes the new sanctions as completely deterrent. The United States also imposes visa restrictions on 19 Russian oligarchs, their family members, and partners.

The British government also said on Thursday it would impose economic sanctions on two Russian oligarchs. British sanctions are also being targeted Aliser Usmanov and the former Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov.

The United States has in the past imposed sanctions on Putin and the country’s central bank in several rounds of sanctions.
