Russian attack Stoltenberg: NATO to increase co-operation with Finland, Sweden and the EU – NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on Ukraine

NATO increases co-operation with like-minded partners Finland, Sweden and the EU, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Friday.

The NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in Brussels on Friday. The meeting was attended by partner countries Finland and Sweden, as well as EU representatives. Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland Pekka Haavisto (Green) was present at the meeting.

According to Stoltenberg, cooperation means coordination and information sharing. According to Stoltenberg, the partners are involved in all NATO contacts related to Ukraine.

Stoltenberg stressed on Friday that NATO supports Ukraine and protects its territory, but does not intend to be a party to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. According to Stoltenberg, NATO is doing everything it can to prevent the war from escalating.

“According to member states, NATO planes should not be in Ukrainian airspace or NATO forces on Ukrainian soil,” Stoltenberg said.
