According to the diplomat, Russia and the United States have managed to establish a stable dialogue on a number of problems of global importance – from climate change to the Iranian nuclear deal. He noted that most of the problems are of a “pronounced cross-border nature” and it is fashionable to reliably stop such challenges only by working together.
“In this regard, I am pleased to note the stable dialogue with the United States on the Arctic, climate change, Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria, JCPOA,” the ambassador said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the US Department of State, Ned Price, said that the department realizes the need for open channels for diplomatic interaction with Russia. According to him, one-time meetings are not a full-fledged substitute for the work of diplomatic missions, which the United States hopes to resume. The US and Russian diplomats have agreed on another round of talks on the issue of restrictions on the work of their embassies.
