Acting Governor of Russia’s Kursk Oblast Alexei Smirnov said early Thursday that air defense forces shot down seven Ukrainian missiles in the region’s airspace.
“In the airspace of the Kursk region, Russian air defense forces shot down seven missiles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Smirnov wrote on his Telegram account, Sputnik news agency reported. Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday with Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov and Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov to discuss the situation in the Kursk region.
