From November 1, Russia will suspend the work of its permanent mission to NATO. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, reports TASS…
Also, according to the minister, the information bureau of the North Atlantic Alliance in Moscow will cease its activity. Russia has already brought to the attention of NATO information about retaliatory steps in connection with the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Brussels.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that in response to the reduction in the number of the Russian diplomatic corps in Brussels, Moscow will form a list of retaliatory measures. Peskov also said about the anti-Russian orientation of the military bloc, which is “an objective reality.”
On October 6, NATO decided to reduce the number of employees of the Russian diplomatic mission in the military alliance in Brussels from 20 to 10 people. The next day, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the expelled employees of the Russian permanent mission belonged to “undeclared intelligence agents.”
