The state corporation Rostec announced the launch of the development process for a new generation of interceptor fighters. Reported by RIA News…
The press service clarified that the project of the long-range interception aircraft complex under the symbol “MiG-41” is now at the stage of development work. After all the necessary work within the stage is completed, a prototype will be created.
Sources previously familiar with the situation, in an interview with Izvestia reporters, clarified that a multifunctional long-range intercept missile system (MFRK DP) will be developed for the Russian MiG-31 and MiG-41 interceptor fighters, which turns these aircraft into killers of hypersonic missiles.
In December 2017, it was reported that Russia would receive a new interceptor before the expiration of the MiG-31’s service life in 2028.
