High-tech device blocks communication with unmanned vehicles and knocks them down
For the first time since the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia used an electromagnetic weapon to contain drones from the rival country. The information was published on Wednesday (6.Jul.2022) by Tass.
A source heard by the Russian news agency said the device, called Stupor, is capable of blocking the signal between the operator and the drone (or other unmanned vehicles). “Afterwards, the drone is neutralized and forced to land”, he added.

STUPOR
Stupor was designed by the Russian Ministry of Defense to combat unmanned aerial vehicles, including helicopters and drones.
The warfare device emits electromagnetic pulses in an attempt to block communication from unmanned vehicles that are up to 2 kilometers away.
Upon reaching its objective, the drone operator loses contact with the equipment, as well as with cameras attached to it.
Until the publication of this text, Russian and Ukrainian officials had not confirmed the use of Stupor.
