Russians and Ukrainians agreed Wednesday morning to respect a ceasefire around a series of humanitarian corridors to evacuate civilians, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced.

According to her, Russia confirmed the agreement to respect a truce from 9 am to 9 pm, around six areas affected by the fighting: from Energodar to Zaporozhye (south), from Izium to Lozova (east) and from Sumy to Poltava (northeast), where a corridor had already allowed the evacuation of thousands of civilians this Tuesday (8).

Several corridors must also be established to transport the population to the capital, Kiev, from several nearby cities that were violently bombed, including Boutcha, Irpin and Gostomel.
